It shows up as installed in the package center and when opened from there, it works. and plex icon just disappeared from my Synology 418play desktop screen. Thanks for using this tutorial for installing Plex Media Server on CentOS 8 system. Just updated to plex server latest version 1. Not really an issue as such, but I have noticed after the last couple of server updates that the Plex icon no longer shows on the Synology desktop when running. To finalize setting up the Plex Media Server, open your browser and browse your server’s address as shown: Congratulations! You have successfully installed Plex. To be able to access the Plesk Media Server over the Internet we need to configure our server to allow connections on some ports: sudo firewall-cmd -add-service=plex -zone=public -permanent Once the installation is completed, start the Plex media service and enable it to start after system reboot with the following command: sudo systemctl start rvice After adding the repository, proceed to Install Plex Media Server on CentOS 8: sudo dnf install plexmediaserver
